I decided to make a couple mini versions of the album I made in my last post. I did a button and elastic closure on the first book and then a ribbon closure on the second. I think I like the button closure the best.

I took a book making class from my very talented friend, Ronnie. I had such a fun time and can't wait to make more of these!! Ronnie has an amazing rubber stamp collection and it was fun to use images that I don't usually use. Here are the pictures of my finished book. Enjoy!

This was a fun embellishment to make - cut out a piece of cardboard, covered it with paper and then stamped on it.
One of my favorite stamps that we used today. The man and umbrella is one stamp and the birds are another.
I had a lot of scraps left over after I finished Chase's 1st Year Album, so I decided to challenge myself and make up some cards. The name of this paper line is 'Animal Crackers' and this is the 'Jack' version. I just found out there is a 'girl' Animal Cracker paper set called 'Ella' and it's so pretty!! I may have to track it down.
Before I started in on the cards, I made a 8x8 double page layout for my sister-in-law. Here it is....please excuse the poor photos of it. I need to figure out a way to get better pictures of my bigger projects...

My little nephew Chase just turned 1 on July 1st. Shortly after he was born, I saw a cute little '1st Year' mini album at a local scrapbook store and bought supplies to make one for Chase. So, here we are a year later and I just finished up the album. Chase's mom and dad (Nikki and Cody) had plenty of pictures for me to pick from each month. :)
As you go through the book, you'll see a picture on the right and then on the left page there is a spot on the lower right corner for journaling. This is where Nikki can record Chase's height and weight for each month. If there is a month she doesn't have that information she can just write about something new Chase had learned to do.
I just love this book because you can watch Chase grow right before your eyes. I have posted three pictures below showing the cover, Chase's newborn picture and then Chase's one year picture. Be sure to check out the slideshow at the end - it shows the whole album.
(when you watch the slideshow, you'll see that the letters on my book cover look dirty...I used my stick machine to adhere these and then the letters got really dirty after the handling...please over look this! :) )
I really struggle when it comes to designing masculine cards and I was needing two cards for a couple of upcoming birthdays. I dug through my paper and found this striped paper and thought it would be a perfect starting point. The little star comes from a two-piece QuicKutz die that I've had laying around forever and had just never used. My plan is to make about 10 more masculine cards while I have the idea and stash them away for later.

I discovered Maggie Holmes blog the other day and she was offering a Valentine Mini Album Inspire Guide. For $5, I got a pdf with full color images of the entire project, instructions, and a printable digital element. How cool!! My husband had surprised me with Basic Grey's new Bittersweet paper line and it was fun to use on this project. So, here it is... check it out!
The Angel Company released their first issue of 'Serendipity' today. It is a 48-page magalogue (catalogue/magazine) that features brand new stamp sets, accessories, tools and lots of ideas to spark some creativity. I'm excited because I have a card featured on page 23! I've been published!! I just had to share. :)
