I'm trying to make a few layouts of Lily before baby Jack gets here in August. This picture of Lily and my sister Samantha was taken on Easter Sunday. I used PTI's Spot Dot stamp set and TAC's Miss Moxie paper.
I'm on summer break and loving every minute of it! Lily is 19 months old and keeps us on our toes. We recently purchased a water table and sand box for her and it's so much fun to watch her play. She's such a happy kid!

Focus two of my online 'Something From Almost Nothing' class is patterned papers. I have a 12x12 plastic container that has my patterned scraps and I'm happy to say that the container isn't that full - I recently went through it and pulled stuff out to take to school for my kindergarten kids to use.
One of the inspiration layouts from the online class used punched circles. So, I gathered up all the coordinating scraps of the paper shown above and started punching circles in three different sizes. I had quite a pile by the time I got done. I struggled for a bit when I started looking for a picture to use. You see, I'm primarily a card maker and I have very few pictures laying around ready to scrapbook. I thought these colors would be great for a little boy layout, but I didn't have any pictures of my nephews. So I opted for a picture of my husband and I. If I remember correctly, we snapped this picture right before leaving the house to go fishing.

This is an 8x8 layout that I made from Prompt 1 ideas from the online class that I'm taking. This class is all about using those supplies that we've been collecting and I have a HUGE stash of brads!! I really like how this layout turned out. It was a tedious job to put all those brads in because I have to have things straight and perfect - but it was worth the effort.
I had no problem popping the smaller brad into place because I have tons of them, but when it came time to place some larger brads in place, it was another story! I'd pick up a large brad and then I set it back down. In my head I was thinking, 'There are only 8 of these in this pack and if I use them, they'll be gone!!'. Silly...I know...but that's what was going through my mind. Once I finished the frame, though, I didn't care that the brads were all used up - I had a fun layout to show for it. :)

Lily was born five months ago today. She is such a huge blessing to my husband and I. We had truly waited a long time for this sweet little girl, and it has been so worth the wait!!
This is an 8x8 layout of my niece that I made for Prompt 01 of the online class that I'm taking - Something From Almost Nothing. This first prompt is all about metal embellishments. In my last post, I said that I just didn't have many metal embellishments...I don't know what I was thinking because I have an entire drawer FULL of brads and eyelets!! When the term 'metal embellishment' was used I think I was thinking more along the lines of larger metal items like frames, charms, etc.
My base for this page is a piece of teal DWV textured card stock. In the bottom left-hand corner is a piece of white card stock that has been inked with Hibiscus Burst and then stamped with one of PTI's polka dot stamps in the same color. I used a 1/2 inch hole punch to punch out pink circles and then used a few eyelets in the center of a few of the circles. I'm proud of myself for using the plastic white letters. I've had an unopened pack of white and red plastic letters in my stash for some time now. :) I added the two butterflies at the bottom to help balance out the page.
I'm not 100% satisfied with this page, but it's a start. I struggle with scrap booking and know that it just takes practice, right?
I just finished my first project for the online class I'm taking - Something From Almost Nothing (SFAN). The first project prompt is all about metal embellishments. I quickly found that this is something I don't have a lot of. I found some metal rimmed tags that were from the office supply isle of Wal-Mart. I used my one-inch punch to punch paper and cover each tag.
The page shown below is a title page for a mini album. The album holds 9x6 pages and I'm using a 12x12 pad of paper from s.e.i. called Bissette. I love teals and greens, so this pad of paper is just perfect. I have a hard time cutting into a new pad of paper...such a hard time!
I wanted to stamp the words 'Celebrate LIFE', but wasn't able to find anything in my stash that I liked. I ended up printing the sentiment from my computer. Quick and easy!
Well, I need to get to bed. I had conferences after school today and got home late. I have three hours of conferences in the morning and then spring break begins!! I hope to find some more time to work on my projects for class. Thanks for stopping by!
