Sweet Looking Sweet Potato!

                                 

     I'm a kindergarten teacher and we've been studying about plants.  This is a picture of one of our experiments.  We placed toothpicks in this sweet potato and placed it in the water so that only a couple of inches of the potato were submerged.  We started this experiement on September 3rd and just within the last week it has done this.  Isn't it amazing!!!  The first picture was taken on Sept. 24th and the second picture was taken today.  I think I'm more excited than the kids!  :)  I just had to share this with you.  I'm going to try to keep it going all year.  I can't wait to see what happens.  (be sure to click on each picture for a closer look!) 

Oswegofest

                  

     Oswegofest is this Saturday and I'm going to set up a booth to promote the stamp company I demonstrate for - The Angel Company.  I've been busy making cards, coaster calendars and note pads to sell.  I'll also have a drawing for a free TAC catalog and $20 in catalog merchandise, and I'll be sharing how you can get your 'wings' and become a TAC demo just like me.  :)

     Oswegofest holds a special place in my heart because it's where I met my husband 10 years ago.  He was a senior in high school and was helping with his senior class booth.  I was a freshman in college and was helping my church's youth group booth.  Chris came walking through the park and stopped to talk to me.  We began to talk and discovered we had a lot in common.  He walked me to my car at the end of the day, asked for my phone number, and we've been together ever since.  We got married the following year and will celebrate our 9th anniversary on November 20th.  Wow!  Time sure flies!!

Heather Bailey's Square Deal Pincushion

                            

      One of my favoite blogs to read is Hello My Name is Heather by Heather Bailey. Heather is the desinger of fabric, sewing patterns, paper craft supplies and even has her own hair accesory line called Trash Ties.  Heather offers a few free patterns on her blog and I decided to try out her Square Deal Pincushion.  I had trouble with my first one, but my second one came out much better.  It's a little tricky to get the corners just right, but just stay at it and you'll get it.  I think these would make fun gifts for my sewing friends.  

                         

Table Runner

     I'm a member of my local quilt guild, Itchin' for Stitchin' Quilt Guild, and I recently participated in a block of the month project.  Our project was to make a table runner and we were given new instructions each month for three months.  Our name was entered in a door prize drawing each month when we brought in the next finished part of our project.  This picture isn't the best, but you can get the idea.  It's just the top right now.  I still need to add batting, backing and then quilt it.

                           

Cherished Moment

     My brother, Scott, got married this past May to a wonderful young woman named Melissa.  Scott sent me these pictures this morning and I just had to share them with you.  Be sure to follow this link to view a wedding gift that I made for them.

Treasured Gift

     My sister, Samantha, and I went to New York last April to visit family.  My friend, Joyce, sent journaling tags with me and said she'd make me something very special once I returned the tags to her.

So Excited!

I've been wanting to start this new blog for quite awhile now.  I have a blog that's dedicated to the rubberstamp company that I demonstrate for, but I wanted a place where I could share even more.  I love to sew, quilt, embroider...the list goes on and on.  I hope to expand my Etsy shop and sell more than just paper crafted items.  Who knows what the future holds!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back again soon.
