Thank You

      I'm planning to make some thank you cards as gifts for three para's that help in my classroom.  Here's one of the cards I came up with.  I'm really struggling with getting my creativity going.  I rarely have time to craft and when I do find time, it's just a very little bit of time.  Anyway, I'm happy with this one and I hope to get some time tonight to work on a few more.  

      

      This is the photo we're using for our photo Christmas cards.  At least two of us are smiling, right?  :)  Lily was bouncing off the walls and Jack was cranky.  We were fortunate to get this one.  Lily celebrated her 2nd birthday on October 14th and Jack will be 4 months old on December 17th.  He is a good little baby.  We feel so blessed.

      I have no idea when (or if) I'll ever be back to blogging regularly.  For anyone stopping by to read this - thank you!

He's Here!

     Jack Andrew Gilreath was born Wednesday, August 17th, 2011.  He was born at 1:02 pm, weighed 9 lbs. 10oz and was 21 inches long.  Jack is healthy and so handsome.  :)  We are so blessed. I'll share more pictures later.  

You Are One of a Kind

I recently bought some new stamps from The Angel Company and one of the sets is called 'One of a Kind'. I'm wanting to get back into coloring larger images. I get a little intimidated when its a large image, but I just need to practice. I get hung up on what colors to choose, too. This image made it pretty simple on color choice, though. Summer Card Camp - Day 1, Week 2

     It's already Week 2, Day 2 of Summer Card Camp!  I completed a card for this weeks new color combo that was given yesterday.  Here is the color combo-

And here is my card-

     I have a small stash of 6x6 pieces of patterned card stock from when I was a part of a monthly card kit club and found the card stock with the above flowers I felt it represented the red and oranges from the color combo.  I just cut out what I needed and then adhered it to a piece of Wild Asparagus paper from My Mind's Eye.  I stared at the card forever, knowing it needed something else...so I rounded the top left corner and then added the orange gems under the sentiment.  This project was fun and now I'm off to see what is in store for today's card camp class!

Card stock - floral paper (misc.), green stipe (My Mind's Eye - Wild Asparagus)

Ink - VersaFine Onyx black (for sentiment) and Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo (for inked edgest of green card stock)

3x3's for my kiddos

I'm a Kindergarten teacher and I like to give my kids a DVD at the end of the year that has pictures from our school year. I didn't have them ready to go on the last day of school, so I told my class I would mail them. I finally have them ready to go and of course had to make a hand stamped 3x3 card to go with each DVD. :) I made a flower card for the girls and a fish card for the boys. I had fun using my Copic markers and Icicle Stickles. Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Card Camp - Day 1

    I'm so excited to be apart of Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire's Summer Card Camp!!  Yesterday was Day 1 and we were challenged to make a card using the color combo shown below.

     I'm trying to make a few layouts of Lily before baby Jack gets here in August.  This picture of Lily and my sister Samantha was taken on Easter Sunday.  I used PTI's Spot Dot stamp set and TAC's Miss Moxie paper.  
    I'm on summer break and loving every minute of it!  Lily is 19 months old and keeps us on our toes.  We recently purchased a water table and sand box for her and it's so much fun to watch her play.  She's such a happy kid!

Sawtooth Stars and Baby Boy News

     I have a finished quilt to share with you!  I started this quilt about five or six years ago and finally completed it.  The blocks are called 'Sawtooth Stars'.  This quilt is machine pieced and handquilted.  I LOVE to hand quilt, but it takes a lot of time and I have to be in the right mood.  :)  I have a lot of hobbies and I've been going between paper crafting and quilting the last few years.  I'm back into quilting at the moment and I made myself finish this one so I could start a new quilt.  I can't wait to show you what I'm working on next!  

So...I'm at 18 weeks and we got to do a sonogram today.  We found out we are going to have a boy!  Everything looked good and he had a good heartbeat.  It was so amazing to get to see our little baby today.  We have decided on the name Jack Andrew.  I have a picture to share with you.
